Your kids need to build something? Paint something? Speak a little Spanish? Learn about another culture?
On Sunday, September 15, the Norwalk/Nagarote Sister-City Project invites families to build a popsicle or Lego bridge to Nicaragua. To paint a community mural. To have a little fun on a Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 at 68 Wall Street in downtown Norwalk, right next to My Three Sons. Jerry's Artarama will provide gift certificates to participants.

The Norwalk/Nagarote Sister City Project is a partnership between the people of Nagarote, Nicaragua and the people of the greater Norwalk area of Connecticut.  The project focuses on disadvantaged children in Nagarote, from preschool through college. It provides scholarships, tutoring, support for the preschool, afterschool programs, and food grown on their sustainable farm.  Many of the youngsters who started with the program as young teenagers are now in college and working at the project as tutors, aides, and mentors.
Build a Bridge to Nicaragua is co-sponsored by Norwalk 2.0. It promotes organizations and initiatives to encourage a sense of community in the greater Norwalk region. Norwalk2.0 organizes events and activities that encourage networking, sharing ideas, and support.
